What I thought I was getting was something completely different once it arrived on my doorstep.
The product advertised in the pictures is the higher quality version 1 of the TRENDnet switch. What I got was some third or fourth generation of the product that has been manufactured more cheaply in what I can only assume is a tactic to increase their profits by passing along a lower quality product.
This is a poor business tactic. TRENDnet put out what I consider to be a quality product with the first version of the switch. They chose to follow up, once the good reviews were established, with a cheaper made replacement. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Just follow the power cord changes in the product to see for yourself. It went from a standard three prong power cord, to a space saving AC adapter to a cheap plastic AC brick that I doubt would last very long.
Let's face it. It's not like the technology changed from version 1 to version 2 or 3. They simply set out to make it cheaper to maximize profit.
